Dungeon Sokoban

Sokoban Challenges in Dungeon Sokoban

Challenge your spatial deduction in a dark underground labyrinth with Dungeon Sokoban, a polished block-pushing game built on classic grid mechanics. You control a hero traversing ngục tối rooms filled with wooden crates and stone walls. Your task is to push all crates onto glowing target switches. However, because you can only push crates forward (and never pull them), a single wrong move can trap a block in a corner, forcing you to restart. If you love a pure Logik grid puzzle, Dungeon Sokoban is the perfect mental challenge.

History of Underground Sokoban

The original Sokoban was created in 1981 by Hiroyuki Imabayashi and released in Japan. It became a global phenomenon due to its simple rules and complex solutions. Dungeon Sokoban wraps this classic formula in a beautiful fantasy dungeon aesthetic, featuring pixel-art torches, skeletons, and glowing runes. Built using Phaser 3 and released under the MIT license, it runs smoothly in any browser, providing an authentic retro puzzle experience.

Dungeon Pushing Mechanics

The game is played on a grid. You move your character up, down, left, and right. If you move towards a crate that has an empty space behind it, you push the crate into that space. You cannot push two crates simultaneously, and you cannot walk through walls or crates. The level is won when all crates occupy target spots. As you descend deeper into the dungeon, the rooms become tighter, and the number of crates increases, requiring precise route planning.

Ngục Tối Pushing Tips

  • Avoid Corner Traps: Never push a crate into a corner tiles unless that corner is a target. A crate in a corner cannot be moved again.
  • Keep Walls Clear: Try to avoid pushing crates flush against walls unless you have mapped out a path to slide them out.
  • Plan the Last Push: Work backwards from the targets. Think about which crate must go to which target first to avoid blocking the lanes.
  • Use the Undo Button: The game features an unlimited undo function. Use it to test routing paths without penalty.

Dungeon Controls

  • Arrow Keys / WASD: Move the dungeon hero and push crates.
  • Z Key / Backspace: Undo the last push or movement step.
  • R Key: Restart the current room layout.
