The Story of Planet Appelmoeshapje

In the game, you control Appel, a small red squishy block creature who resides on the peaceful planet of Appelmoeshapje. The evil robot villain, Micro Manager, has invaded the planet, trapping the inhabitants and stealing all the golden apples that sustain their life. Appel must navigate through dangerous terrain, dodge spikes, lasers, and falling blocks, and eventually defeat the Micro Manager in a final battle. Developed by griffpatch, the creator of the most popular Scratch tutorials, the game features industry-grade physics and fluid controls.

Game Rules & Mechanics

Your objective is to reach the exit portal of each level while collecting as many golden apples as possible. The game features a variety of hazards: red spikes, bottomless pits, moving laser gates, and crushing block weights. If you hit a hazard, you instantly respawn at the last checkpoint. Appel can walk, run, wall jump, and stick to ceilings. The game combines reflex actions with puzzle solving, requiring you to time your jumps to avoid traps and trigger switches.

Pro Platforming Tips

1. Wall Jumping: Jump towards a vertical wall and press the Jump button while touching the wall to leap off. You can scale narrow shafts by wall-jumping between sides.
2. Ceiling Sticking: Press and hold the Up arrow (or W key) when jumping towards a flat ceiling to stick to it. You cannot move horizontally while stuck, but you can drop down or jump off.
3. Preserve Momentum: Use slides and down slopes to gain speed. Jumps made while running fast have much longer trajectories.
4. Collect Golden Apples: Some apples are hidden in hard-to-reach niches. Use wall jumps and ceiling hangs to reach them safely.
5. Learn Micro Manager's Attack Patterns: In boss fights, watch the laser charges and jump right before they fire.
